Welcome Search Guilders!
SearchGuild has been acquired by SEONews.
I was personally a daily poster @ SG, and I was disappointed when SG was taken down because of hackers and inept hosting. Nevertheless, I’m really excited to resurrect the friendly SEO community.
Please leave a comment if you have any suggestions on what features you would like in the new forums!

Are you really gonna start a brand new forum from scratch? Or did you mean “community” in a broader sense? You could maybe team up with SEO.com (new and improved) to have a nice forum, blog on SEONews about - erm - SEO News, and have SearchGuild host a really nice collection of tools. To make a difference, some of those tools could be left as open source so people could really join in and improve them and tweak them. SG2.0 as it were, as part of a network.
PS: and yes, I was a daily visitor and occasional troll on SearchGuild as well
Not under this nickname tho.

I will be glad to see SearchGuild revived, although it may be hard to get all the regulars back, as FUDwatch.co.uk has been set up for the old SearchGuilders. But I would like to see something fresh and new, maybe not a forum, but something that provides an open source SEO solution, or something.

Check out the tool here:
http://www.seochat.com/seo-tools/keyword-difficulty/
There seem to be some minor changes:
- faster engine
- but with a captcha (which slows down the research)
- different algorithm and different results
Based on my initial searches of this tool, compared to
my results with the SearchGuild tool, it seems to me
that the latter may have been a bit more accurate???
Nonetheless, I look forward to testing this one with
some live keywords.
Cheers,
Tom

Search Guild was by far my favourite SEO forum for getting help and advice. Really miss the conversations we had there, as they provided both witty sarcasms as well as excellent insights into SEO.

Hadn’t been to SG for ages and was sorely disappointed to see it had gone - I’d only been a member for a little while but had used it almost religiously as a source of help and feedback…would be good to see it make a comeback somehow and perhaps ensnare the next generation of SEO-ers…
